Ecumenical Lent Walks

The ecumenical Team of senior Cumbrian Church Leaders will be walking throughout Cumbria
during Lent, as part of an ongoing commitment to enable everyone in Cumbria to discover more of
God and his purpose in our lives. The Team will be visiting the Mission Communities within our area
and they would like to meet as many people as possible at the walks, services and events that have
been planned.
The Programme
Friday 22 nd March
6.15pm Evening Prayer Kirkby Stephen Parish Church
7pm The three Church Leaders will be attending a Methodist Women in
Britain (MWiB) event at Kirkby Stephen Methodist Church.
Saturday 23 rd March
Rev Sarah Moore and Bishop James will be involved in the events on Saturday
9.30am Morning Prayer St Lawrence’s Parish Church Appleby
10am Walk Appleby Area
An easy, circular walk led by members of Kirkby Thore’s Wild Church. Walkers
will be departing from the Cloisters outside St Lawrence’s. Along the way there
will be time for prayer, reflection and even some activities! Walkers will return
by 11.30am at the latest. For more details, contact Kristy on 07480 935119.
12.30 Lunch Tebay Club

lunch
2pm Walk Shap Area
An easy-medium grade walk of around 3 miles, going from St Michael’s
Church to Shap Abbey and returning via Keld or Wet Sleddale, depending on
the weather. There will be time for prayer and meditation at the Abbey.
Tea/coffee and biscuits will be served on return to the Church.

5pm Evening Prayer Ravenstondale Parish Church
6.30pm Meal Soulby Village Hall
Please come along and join the Team for a meal at Soulby Village Hall. There
is no charge for the food, although donations towards the cost will be gratefully

On Sunday 24 th March, the Team will be moving on to the Sedbergh area
